What are the Buttercup Flowers?

This flower is scientifically known as the Ranunculus. This flower has over 500 different species and is also known as a buttercup flower. These flowers are widespread, and are taller than usual. They are typically in ornamental gradients which are gardens that have weeds. These flowers are visibly seen by having different types of leafing, and have floating leaves along with thread-like leaves as well. The larvae typically use the Buttercup as its source of food. They are flowers that are aquatic and can be terrestrial also. There are different types of these flowers and each have different names that are associated with their shapes and size. The Glacier buttercup has white petals with a yellow center, while the sagebrush is completely yellow. The creeping buttercup has open petals with a beautiful pollinated center, compared to the asiaticus which has a more cultivated form. Finally the unique buttercup of all is called the seed head, and it sounds just like it looks. This flower has beautiful reflective petals that can even cause a reflection that resembles a mirror. 

Caring for  Buttercup Flowers

When caring for this flower it requires to be watered regularly. When watering these flowers it is important to avoid the soil from drying out, so fertilizer and mulch is needed to keep the buttercup blooming the right way. Fertilizers are needed, although it is important to avoid adding this to the stems of the flower but around the plant instead. The standard size of these flowers are about 2 feet tall, although there are some flowers that can grow up to 10 inches. Typically these flowers have different shades and some also can double blossom when they reach a certain width. It is important when planting and caring for the Buttercup flower that the area around is moist and watered depending on the rainfall in the area. When the blooming period of this flower comes to an end, watering is not necessary once the leaves turn yellow.

This flower is native to many different areas. The original thought of origination for the Buttercup was in Iran, Greece and Turkey. Although this changed as the Buttercup began to originate in other areas around the world. It is native to different parts including Europe, and minimal parts of Asia as well.
